Towering above the late spring garden, its impressive stems are crowned with enormous, perfectly rounded flower heads made up of hundreds of tiny star-shaped florets in rich amethyst-purple. Few flowers create such a dramatic impact, yet their graceful form blends effortlessly into romantic cottage gardens and naturalistic plantings alike.
Blooming from late spring into early summer,giganteum provides a beautiful transition as tulips and daffodils fade and perennial borders begin to awaken. Beloved by bees and butterflies, these architectural blooms bring movement, height, and structure to the garden while making spectacular cut flowers. Even after flowering, the sculptural seed heads remain beautifully ornamental, adding interest for weeks and drying wonderfully for everlasting arrangements.
