If you’re looking for an allium that makes a statement, Miami certainly delivers. Large, open flower heads are made up of hundreds of tiny, star-shaped florets in rich raspberry-purple tones, creating a wonderfully airy display that seems to shimmer above the garden. Unlike the perfectly round globe alliums, Miami has a more relaxed, natural form that brings movement and texture to perennial borders.
Its long, sturdy stems make it an exceptional cut flower, while the open blooms are a favourite landing place for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators throughout late spring and early summer. Whether planted in generous drifts or woven among peonies, roses, and ornamental grasses, Miami adds both drama and elegance without ever feeling formal.
As the flowers mature, they dry beautifully on the stem, extending their beauty well beyond the blooming season and providing striking seed heads for both the garden and dried arrangements.
