Graceful, elegant, and effortlessly timeless, Allium Nigrum offers a softer interpretation of the classic ornamental allium. Perfectly rounded flower heads are composed of hundreds of pristine white, star-shaped florets, each accented with a delicate green eye that gives the blooms remarkable texture and depth. Floating atop tall, sturdy stems, they bring light and sophistication to the late spring garden.
Unlike the bold purple alliums so often seen, Nigrum blends seamlessly into romantic cottage gardens and naturalistic plantings. Its luminous white blooms pair beautifully with peonies, foxgloves, roses, bearded iris, and the last of the spring tulips, while also creating a stunning transition into the early summer border. Pollinators adore the nectar-rich flowers, and the sturdy stems make exceptional cut flowers, remaining fresh for an impressive length of time. Even after flowering, the architectural seed heads continue adding beauty and interest to the garden.
